Meribel - Centre of The Three Valleys
Meribel is where it all began for Basecamp. Without doubt one of the most popular and well situated resorts in Europe, with some of the finest aprés to boot!
Meribel is located in the middle of the the epic Three Valleys, and has a lively town centre with loads of good shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The town itself is 1400 metres above sea level, and it's advantageous central position means you're able to get to neighbouring resorts such as Val Thorens and Courchevel in only a couple of lifts.
The aprés scene is also a massive feature to the resort, with the famous Folie Douce pumping tunes until the end of the ski day, the Rond-Point continuing through the night, and O'Sullivans to take you through the night Meribel is a non-stop party town!
Meribel sits in the middle of the Three Valleys, the biggest resort in the world, with over 600km of pistes, all of which are well connected by an extensive lift system. The resort has plenty of terrain to challenge any level of skier or rider.
Around the Altiport you'll find gentle, tree-lined runs and an abundance of wide red runs where you can practise some high speed carving. There are huge areas for freeriders to explore with lots of powder faces. Take a run down underneath the Plan de Homme for some good tree runs and rock dodging. There's good off-piste at Mont Vallon and Cote Brune, which shouldn't be missed, along with another 14,000 hectares for you to explore.
The main terrain park, Moon park, is accessed by the Arpasson drag lift. It includes a triple line kicker for all levels, some advanced rails, a big spine jump and a new step up to step down feature. Plenty to keep you practising your freestyle all season! The park also includes a 'chill and grill' BBQ.
So, whether it is the half-pipe in the Moon park, the couloirs and bowls of Courchevel, the snow-sure glaciers in Val Thorens, the fierce moguls of the Roc De Tougne or the off-piste of Mont Vallon and Cote Brune, the variety and diversity of slopes The Three Valleys has to offer is unrivalled.

Meribel is famous for its ski-in, ski-out chalet accommodation and our course accommodation is no exception! We offer accommodation in chalets and our brilliant Mountain Lodge.
Les Matines is located just off the slopes, nestled among the trees on a snowy path just off the ski slope into Meribel, so you can ski to and from your front door. It's also just a 5-minute walk to the heart of Meribel with its lively atmosphere, street bands, and cafe culture.
The large, south-facing sun terrace is the perfect place to relax with an afternoon drink, as you soak up the magnificent view of the sun setting over the mountains.
The chalet is split in two - the main building has 5 twin/double bedrooms and there is also an apartment downstairs with 1 double/twin room, and 4 sofa beds in the apartment living room (two Basecampers will be accommodated here during the course.)
Mountain Lodge is a large chalet with a strong seasonnaire atmosphere, comfy beds and all the facilities you need for an amazing time in the Alps. The lodge features a bar, board servicing area, social room, film/chill out room and WIFI.
Chalet Leopold is a chalet apartment based further up the mountain in the middle of Mottaret so, while it's a bit further from the central Meribel nightlife it is a ski purist's dream location.
The chalet can sleep 10 people in 5 twin rooms. There's a comfortable seating area with a snug fireplace, epic mountain vistas, and a large dining room table for you to enjoy the hot home cooked meals on offer.
The nightlife in Meribel is well renowned and adopts the same concept as many alpine resorts. After a long day on the slopes, the après options are endless. There are loads of slope side bars, the pumping Folie Douce up the mountain and Le Rond Point (voted in the top 10 après bars in the world) which offers live music and a great atmosphere.
For those keen for a bit more than just après, the pubs and clubs of Meribel stay open until the early hours. Over the last 10 years, our Basecampers have taken to O'Sullivans, which is the central hub for loud music, great cocktails and a busy dance floor. The club is very popular amongst seasonnaires and provides for a great night out.
If clubbing until the early hours isn't your cup of tea, then there are other options, such as Bar Barometer, which provide a great alternative and have their own style.
Whatever you're looking for in the evenings, we can guarantee that you won't be disappointed and Meribel's huge choice of evening entertainment is one of the reasons why we started coming here so many years ago.
